Luana Patten – in heaven

Luana Patten (6 juli 1938 – 1 mei 1996) was een Amerikaans actrice. Patten werd geboren in Long Beach, Californië, als dochter van Harvey T. Patten en Alma (Miller) Patten, inwoners van Enid, Oklahoma. Ze ging naar de Burbank High School en de Hollywood Professional School. Op driejarige leeftijd was ze model en later werd ze ingehuurd door Walt Disney. Patten maakte haar eerste filmoptreden in de musical Song of the South (1946). Ze verscheen ook in Song of the South’s zusterfilm So Dear to My Heart (1948). Ze verscheen in Melody Time (1948), Fun en Fancy Free (1947), Joe Dakota (1957), Johnny Tremain (1957), Cimarron City “Twelve Guns” (1958). Het was op Cimarron City dat ze haar toekomstige tweede echtgenoot, John Smith, ontmoette.  Ze trouwden op 4 juni 1960 en scheidden op 4 december 1964. Patten speelde in Wanted: Dead of Alive “Call Your Shot” (1959), The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet  “The Exploding Book” (1959), Wagon Train “The Ruth Marshall Story” (1959), Rawhide “Incident Of The Druid Curse” (1960), Home from the Hill (1960), Bonanza “Credit for a Kill” (1966), Follow Me Boys! (1966), Fun and Fancy Free, A Thunder of Drums, Perry Mason “The Case of the Scarlet Scandal”, F Troop “The Ballot of Corporal Agarn”, Dragnet (1967 en 1970), Adam-12 “Log 94: Vengeance” (1970). Daarna trok ze zich terug uit de film en televisie-industrie, met uitzondering van een korte cameo in de film Grotesque uit 1988. Patten overleed op 57-jarige leeftijd aan respiratoire insufficiëntie in het Long Beach Memorial Hospital.
